Maria del Pilar Kaladeen is an Associate Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London. Her academic work focuses on colonial literature about the indenture system in Guyana and her book,  With Eyes of Wonder: Colonial Writing on Indentured Indians in British Guiana 1838-1917 is forthcoming with Liverpool University Press. She is the co-editor of  We Mark Your Memory: Writing from the Descendants of Indenture (University of London Press, 2018) and Memory, Migration, (De)colonisation in the Caribbean and Beyond (University of London Press, 2020.
