Mark Tumbridge

Mark Tumbridge teaches in the Department of Language and Cultural Studies at the University of Guyana. He graduated from Brunel University, and after winning the inaugural David Nicholls Memorial Trust Scholarship, he was admitted to the University of Warwick. The title of his 2011 doctoral dissertation was Indenture Wreathed in Opium. Asian Presence in the Caribbean: Literary Representations of Indo-Caribbean and Sino- Caribbean Subjects from 19th Century to the Present. He was co-editor of The Coolie: His Rights and Wrongs by John Edward Jenkins (first published in 1971 and reproduced by the Caribbean Press in 2009).
